JOB DESCRIPTION:
A: Purpose and Scope
The Quality Manager is responsible for administering the company quality program in accordance with customer and company requirements.
B: Responsibilities
Establish procedures for maintaining high standards of quality, reliability, and safety. Determine and enforce, through functional groups, quality and safety requirements in accordance with real company needs, based on current regulations and state-of-the art product development. Organize and promote company wide quality improvements efforts. Evaluate and develop improved techniques for the control of quality, reliability and safety.
Directly responsible for implementation and maintenance of the company quality system, reporting on the performance of the quality system for review and as a basis for improvement of the quality system. The quality manager also has responsibility to act as liaison with external parties on matters relating to the quality system.
Responsible for the Quality System of the company by acting as the Management Representative.
C: Organization Relationships
The Quality manager reports directly to the General Manager and has a support responsibility to all functional managers.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
A: Education and Training
The Quality Manager should have a four year technical degree, preferably in a field that offers as opportunity to gain a well rounded background. Additional class work in management type courses and problem-solving techniques.
B: Technical Requirements
Five years of technical experience, of which two to three years should be in quality administration or quality engineering.
C: Managerial Experience
Three years experience in managing technical personnel. This experience should be gained in areas of engineering or technical operations and should include a minimum of two years in quality management.
D: Quality Standards
Must be knowledgeable of AS9100 and ISO 9001. Needs to maintain all required documents and prepare company for audits.
Must be knowledgeable of IPC A-610 and IPC/WHMA A-620 Class 2 and Class 3.
