Summary:

The core responsibility of this position is to support the work of the teacher, while facilitating the children's physical, academic, emotional, and social independence in a carefully prepared environment.

Essential Functions:

• Support the classroom teacher as directed.

• Ensure the safety and well-being of the students.

• Perform duties faithfully, enthusiastically, and satisfactorily at the school during assigned working hours and at other specified times.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Experience with young children (aged 15 months to 6 years).

• Ability to establish rapport with the students through respect and kindness.

• Ability to take direction and follow through consistently and in a timely manner.

• Ability to manage the classroom in the absence of the teacher.

• Ability to carry out instructions in written, verbal, or diagram form.

• Ability to deal with issues calmly using initiative and common sense.
