JOB OVERVIEW

The Process Development Engineer will be part of the Product Engineering team developing new technologies and manufacturing processes. Under the guidance of Management, this individual will work with the R&D, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to develop new processes and scale them to global manufacturing locations. This is a highly cross-trained position with additional responsibilities supporting other Product Engineering functions.

Essential Functions:

• Lead the development and improvement of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment (including rubber mixing, compression molding and injection molding) using Design of Experiments (DOE) methodology and good engineering practices.

• Recommend design strategies and evaluate risks for new processes.

• Participate in the ongoing evaluation of new equipment, processes, and procedures for global manufacturing sites.

• Write reports to present project findings, timelines, and status.

• Basic maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.

• Provide technical input and guidance on the selection of vendors for process development and optimization.

• Manage projects using internal and external resources, act as a technical liaison, and sign off on work.

• Assist in the implementation of new processes/materials and establish production specifications.

• Maintain awareness and contribute to R&D, and peer-led Product/Process Engineering projects.

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Process experience (3+ years), injection molding, rubber, surface preparation, painting

• Experience using scientific study fundamentals and testing methods.

• Excellent time management and problem-solving skills, ability to prioritize projects

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to lead technical meetings and report project status.

• Ability to travel as required (domestically and abroad).

• Proficiency with MS Office.

• Experience with Matlab, Minitab, JMP, or equivalent engineering analysis software (preferred).

• Experience with Lean Methodology and Six Sigma (preferred)

• BS in Engineering discipline, Mechanical or Materials (preferred)
