Inside Sales Support Specialist

Specific Accountabilities for the Role:

  1. Receive (via telephone, fax or email) and process requests for quotation, orders and all other sales related customer inquiries. Understand pricing strategies and difference in pricing among customer base. Understand specifications and certifications and their association with quotes and orders.  Respond to quotes within 24 hours (exception non-standards) and enter in system as soon as possible.
  2. Value added services: maintain up-to-date knowledge of value added services offered and correct pricing procedures and guidelines. Proactively market and sell  value added capabilities as well as complimentary products.
  1. Follow up on quotes, gather and communicate competitive information.
  1. Order Entry and Contract review: Enter orders immediately upon receipt, accurately per QCI and SOP requirements.
  1. Order Maintenance: Follow open orders from entry through shipment.  Coordinate with shipping departments and freight forwarders when required.  Be proactive to ensure that commitments to the customer are made in a timely fashion.
  2. Customer Service:  Resolve customer problems in a timely and cost effective manner (returns, non-conformances).

7.       Credit: Work closely with accounting for new account establishment and collections (assist field rep) as well as creating proper documentation in the event of a return.

8.       Teamwork: Communication and work with the Field Reps on quote follow-up and customer strategies. Work with the Marketing Group to ensure that pertinent information is made known and provide account information in order to correctly track market codes.

9.       Work with all shipping departments for logistics coordination of domestic and export shipments.

10.    Provide input on stock for contracts and LTA’s; work with finish goods department to help maintain proper stock levels.

11.    Understand US trade regulations.

12.    Interact with coworkers in the office and throughout the company in a professional manner at all times.

13.    Promote the company in a positive fashion at all times.

 

Education: BS/BA or equivalent years of experience (R)

Experience: 3-5 years inside sales or related experience (P)

Areas of Knowledge: Business, Marketing, Sales, or related area (P); ISO 9002 (P); Business Math (R); Product Forms (P); Metallurgy (P); Specifications (P)

Skills: Computer Literacy (Windows Based Software), Communication, Organizational, Attention to Detail, Strong Math Skills (pricing, cut parts, nesting parts, inventory), Customer Service, Telephone Selling, Negotiating,  Professionalism, Ability to Multitask (in a fast paced, stressful environment) (R)

Strong basic math skills:  addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.  A firm understanding of fractions and basic geometry.  Job requires providing a lot of cut parts that a candidate would need to be able to visualize how they fit on a sheet or plate. 

Strong oral and written communication skills are required.  This is imperative as company sells high performance alloys that are used in applications most people are not familiar.  Candidates also need to be able to clearly communicate with customers when bad news needs to be delivered, and deal with difficult circumstances and people, while remaining calm and courteous.

Candidates need to have a desire to acquire knowledge of the alloys we produce and the applications of our customers.
