This position is accountable for independently performing a full range of administrative tasks in the scheduling, record keeping and billing of services to patients. This position will be required to provide coverage for the following areas of the Cancer Center; Sickle Cell and Colon Cancer Prevention located in the Main building; Radiation Oncology, Infusion Services and Cancer Center Clinic front desk
Knowledge of the principles and practices of clinical office management; considerable knowledge of proper grammar, punctuation and spelling; knowledge of medical terminology; considerable interpersonal skills; knowledge of business communication; ability to operate office equipment which may include word processors, computer terminals or other automated equipment; ability to schedule and prioritize workflow; understanding of referral processing; ability to work under pressure in a rapidly changing environment.
Two (2) years of scheduling experience in a medical setting. Graduation from a medical office assistant program may be substituted for the General Experience. Possession of knowledge, skills, and abilities as stated above. Previous experience in an oncology medical practice, scheduling appointments, scheduling chemotherapy/infusion therapy and surgical scheduling.
