Job Summary:

The Quality Engineer is a member of the New Product Introduction team. Key responsibilities include interpretation of customer requirements, critical characteristics, and the development of control plans that ensure consistent delivery of high-quality components to our customers.

Essential Functions of Quality Engineer:

  • Review customer drawings, specifications, and key characteristics.
  • Conduct Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) techniques to develop part qualification process and procedures.
  • Manage customer Production Part Approval Process using any required techniques such as process mapping, first article inspection, control plans, and measurement system analysis.
  • Audit and peer review internal documents and data such as design drawings, operation sheets, and inspection analyses to ensure that quality requirements are met.
  • Lead interface with customers to resolve customer issues and returns.
  • Respond to customer Corrective Action Requests and drive root cause analysis with proven techniques such as 5-Why and Cause & Effect analysis.
  • Maintain quality documentation to ensure compliance with all internal and external regulations and controls.
  • Investigate and research the latest new metrology, inspection methods, and technology.

Job Requirements

  • Engineering degree or equivalent quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Able to read and interpret quality management systems, industry compliance specifications, and other customer or regulatory requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing).
  • Strong working knowledge of APQP techniques and tools such as control plans, PFMEAs, PPAP, SPC, MSA, and gage R&R.
  • Skilled in RCCA processes and techniques such as 8D.
  • Advance computer skills to collect, analyze and interpret technical data.
  • High comfort level working with databases, manufacturing software systems (ERP/MRP) and customer portals.
